2008 SHIRAZ
This is the newest release from the Rivergate stable. Rivergate has the luxury of an excellent storage cellar, which allows wines to be held back to gain bottle age before release.
Rich, ripe and full-bodied with upfront red and black berry fruit characters, this wine displays smooth fine tannins from its time in mostly French and some American oak. Ready for immediate drinking now, but with the promise of rewarding extended cellaring, the release of this wine has been much anticipated by Rivergate fans.
Screwcap.
Some dozen lots of other ‘museum wines’ from past vintages may still be available on request.
Newer vintages are quietly ‘resting’ in the cellar at Rivergate, integrating powerful fruit and fine tannins, awaiting their release as they gain further complexity and a smooth velvety finish.
